SIXTEEN

Another milestone for this one. Derek is sixteen today.....so hard to believe we've come this far.....and survived. And you know what comes next, although it won't be today, not enough practice yet......

You wish big boy...dream on, that one's mine!!!!

OK I'll let you borrow it....until that first ticket or wreck comes along...then she's all mine again!!

Happy Birthday!! This is such a fun year - or at least it has been with mine (can't believe 17 is two months away - that sounds so much older than 16)

Nice car! Congratulations on it too :)

My first loaner was my parents' Hi-Top Conversion Van. It had a TV and a bed. What were they thinking??? Luckily, I was a good girl. I could have gotten in a lot of trouble!

Jane,

We are living right alongside with you. Our oldest is driving on her permit while saving for her own car. I am with you on pins and needles. They truly do grow up way too fast.

16 years old. Awesome. What a great age. The anticipation of driving and spreading his wings....the beginnings of becoming a man. Such adventure ahead.
Enjoy the ride with him, even though there are certainly alot of worries for mom and dad in that aspect

16? Golly! They do age fast, don't they? Each time my eldest has a birthday I think 'Gosh! Imagine her living this long and I haven't murdered her yet!' And then you remember their first birthday and go all misty eyed, until they do the next awful thing!!!
16 is a good age- scary age for them too so close to being grown up (in as much as some ever do grow up!!)
