Getting Older, My Boys

Derek 15yrs old..
Will 10 days shy of 13yrs old...

It occured to me today as I heard the door lock to Will's room while he was changing, that my days of these two as little boys are long gone. I can remember when Derek started locking the door when he bathed......such a contrast to running around the house naked after a bath. I remember helping Will put on his clothes in the morning.....not locking the door to do it now alone. They are growing up....my heart is sad....I miss my little boys....

My two younger boys started doing that last year when they were 8 & 6! But, the funny thing was, I still had to wipe my 6 year old poopy butt, and he was fine w/ that!! Go figure!

Gee whiz, I'm getting misty over here. I remember those boys being so young when I first met them! Sigh. Ashlyn has grown up so much in her 2 weeks at "big school" that I know my days with her being my little girl are numbered. It's giving me serious pause to letting Ailey out of the nest. LOL!

I know it is sad when they start growing up & needing their privacy. They do grow up too fast.

Jane,

Isn't it funny that you never really noticed just when that change occurs where privacy is now and issue and doors become locked. It is sad to realize that at some point our kids are growing up.

Aww, hugs Jane! They're growing into two fine men. What a great example of a wonderful parenting job that you guys have done! :)

What a sweet post! Why do they have to grow up?

My daughter locked her door on me the other day. She's two. I had to break in. Now the door doesn't lock. That'll teach her.
